A Short Break, Then Back To The Grind

I am presently studying for 3 midterms. Yippee. I have two today and I'm not feeling to great about them even though I studied. They aren't really midterms, they are just really big quizzes that are worth 20% and therefore qualify for midterm status in my humble blondish-red opinion.

I feel like I"m living in a little bubble lately, coming and going, weekends seem fast, school seems faster since its two days a week... like I am on autopilot watching my life fly by me. I think this is probably a normal thing, that perhaps others feel the same way - the older you get. Time flies when your having fun - or not. Keep your eyes open. Enjoy the ride.

Yeah. Right. I just want to get out of school to when life really begins.

Something Worth Writing About

I am sure you have all heard the news about a man named Nick Berg. He was an American searching for work in Iraq, and was beheaded by supposed Al Qaeda members. Of course, what makes it more brutal and terrorizing is the fact that they gave a speech before beheading him, all on tape for the world to see.

It never ceases to amaze me the brutality that goes on in our world. From the ongoing crisis in the Congo, to this most recent incident, the capacity of the human to inflict pain on others is disturbing to say the least. I tried to watch the video of Mr. Berg's death, which I immediately took as twisted in itself. How could I possibly sit and watch a man die, video tape or not? I didn't make it through the tape. His pain was too real. Sadly, the most horrifying thing on the tape is not the beheading (gruesome as it was), it was the way that several peoples stood by and watched this - even helped - without even flinching. They honestly believed that it was God's will. As if any God wishes that kind of pain on his children.

This world is sick. Hurry up space program, I'd like to move to Mars.
