So I really love boxing...

And through Fark.com I read about how there are these extra tickets to the Tyson/Lewis fight - and I really wanna go, so does anyone have an extra couple grand they want to donate to the 'lets get tara to the tyson/lewis fight fund?" I promise to be nice for the rest of the year, and to mind my manners when I am in TENNESSEE!

WHY THE FUCK WOULD THEY THINK PEOPLE WOULD ACTUALLY WANT TO GO TO TENNESSEE??? No offense TN, but lets face it, the idea of going to Memphis doesn't exactly scream "Fun" And of course thats what they attribute it to, so I've seen the fight (which Lewis will win, because he can out-box Tyson anyday.. if Tyson is in his top performance, and REALLY boxing, then he would still loose.. Lennox, you rule) and now what? Hey, lets go down to the.... uh... what is in Memphis?

Sheesh, its sad when you can't get a boxer as well known a license to box. If Tyson weren't soo fucked up he would make alot more money.. Too bad he is to stupid to see that

For the Financially or Technologically Challenged

Hi folks :) Well I have another little tidbit for those of you who like to be, or need to be, organized.

Today I went on a mission for a nice little app. Nothing that would clutter my harddrive, desktop, or task bar, just a little program to keep my shit together. You know, a day timer without the paper, and the mess. So I looked for some proggies. I found one that was interesting, Time & Chaos, which if you want to spend the 45 bucks its yours, but the problem is you can not crack the old version (which you can get a crack for) and then upgrade - because it busts your ass. So, I went on a freeware mission. What I found was this - MT Organizer is the name, and its a nice little program that did what I needed too without the ram suckage and the hard drive space. It keeps your appointments (not time oriented but you can type the time in) and your address book, which I found handy for group projects. Since I have a laptop it is much easier for me to keep everything there, but for those of you who are not mobile with a PDA, but have a computer that you practically sleep with, its a good thing to have.

Personally, I would love to have the Time & Chaos, but if I can't have that, this is the little program of charm, and efficiency.

Popups, Privacy, and Protection

Hey Kids! How goes it? Well, I have decided to take this blog to another level again, but I mean it this time. Movies, Technology and Music. Thats what I know so thats what I am going to talk about. I must confess that most of today's find was not mine - it was D's but nevertheless I am going to share it with you.

Download Ad-Aware, a handy dandy free program that seeks and destroys all Spyware on your computer. What is spyware? Basically its a tiny program that communicates with a server - telling them where you go and what you do while your there - on the internet. For a full summary click here - A long article but interesting - be sure to click "text continues."

And on to the next little goodie. How many people hate popups? I hate them. And I hate the little cookies that websites send to my computer to track me too. I think that is lame. So, what did I do? I installed a little program that D hooked me up with called Gaurd IE which is a beautiful little program in itself. I know, you want popups from some sites - and Guard IE gives you the power to choose where your popups come from. It also keeps track of your cookies, and lets you know which ones are 'unwanted'. Simple to use with only one drawback - you can't disable it. Some sites don't have typical naming schemes and therefore the 'allow popups from _____.com' doesn't work - but don't worry, a quick double click will reopen it - sucks for Jeopardy though - you miss your daily double!

And my final issue for the day. I know almost everyone in the world has a Hotmail account (unless it has been closed because it was 32 days ago that you checked it) and we all are quite loyal to Hotmail. Its funny that we will pump our dollars into Microsoft, but we will not trust them. And we shouldn't. Why you ask?

Hotmail is selling your email address to anyone who will pay for it. Even worse, they are selling the information that is in your account. Sure, you have 2-4 bogus accounts with hotmail for whatever reason - but do you have your information really on that account? In order to fix this probelm all you need to do is follow these little directions:

1. Log into Hotmail
2. Go to the OPTIONS page
3. Go to personal profile
4. Unclick "Share my email" (bottom of the page)

Interesting how they hid it in our profiles isn't it?

So there you go - an update for the masses. Protect yourself people! Get Norton Internet Security to keep baad hackers out of your computer, Guard IE to protect your cookies and spyware from websites, and get ad-aware. It has its way of getting you - the main computer at my house had 64 programs. Don't let people watch you - its none of their business!

(And for the record, Kazaa contains spyware, and will not allow you to delete it, or Kazaa wont run, this my friends is why I use WinMX and Audiogalaxy)

So Blogger Sucks Now

I just posted about an article I read that I thought was fascinating. Game addiction. Is this you? I could have been there - but the summer months keep me outdoors where the fresh air is abundant and the tennis is playable.

It is scary to think that children have died because parents have no self control. Lives are ruined not at the hands of the game, rather, at the hands of people who don't know when enough is enough. The system is abused, "Im agorophobic!" they scream with delight, hoping to get disability cheques which will allow them to keep muddling in their worlds.

I personally have been a chat addict. Not the the point that my life suffered (I was ill, and therefore had no life) but to the point that I forgot how much fun I could be having. I can not complain because I met the most wonderful man through chat. But ask yourself, do I have the self control?

Wow, I realize that I can't be THAT sorry if....

I keep doing what I say I wont. Well. It's school guys and I honestly have worked dusk til dawn on it lately. I really have been busy so I am sorry.

Movie News! I saw Attack of the Clones on Monday and I have to say the movie was well done. I really enjoyed the fight scenes and Yoda stole my heart! The acting was good and I was impressed with fellow Vancouverite Hayden Christiansen's performance. The problem is, I really like him and I don't want him to turn into Darth. Oh well I guess.

I have to go, homework calls. I will try to update as much as possible, but for now, hit up real.com and download some of my favorite games - the cracks are available if you look for them :D

Repititious Tara - I'm Sooo Sorry :-(

I am. I am very sorry, and I have noticed lately that my hits per week have dropped, so you guys have stopped reading little old me. Oh well... all for the best I guess... BRITNEY SPEARS JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE BREAKUP! FREE XXX PORN SEX NAKED ANNA KORNIKOVA

Maybe that will help. LMFAO. Okay so I'm all alone on that one.

I want to say out loud that I am very sad today. A very close friend of mine has had something terrible happen to her (name and incident not to be mentioned here for privacy concerns) and I know she knows who she is. I send out my heartfelt condolences, as well as my love, support and prayers to her. She will make it through this and continue to brighten the lives of those around her.

I am presently in Seattle visiting with D for the weekend. I am sure we will venture off to see Attack of the Clones in the local cinerama - same place I saw Lord of the Rings (the theatre is very comfortable with an extra large screen) I wnated to mention a few things.

1. I finally saw "Don't Say A Word" with Michael Douglas. If you feel like wasting a few hours the movie itself is decent. I personally would have liked to see more development with the character of Elizabeth, and less of the female cop role. It ended in a highly cheesy fight which was overly predictable.

Anyway, I have to go pick up a bottle of red for dinner.. its time for some anti stress love action :) Gotta love my boo.

P.S. I hope this finds everyone in good health. There seems to be something in the water, and after watching er the other night.. I am saddened by the chance of a horrible future for this continent.

Coming To You Live From The Kwantlen University College Computer Lounge!!

Ahhh, now you can vicariously live through me, and be a bored college student waiting ever so patiently for her next class. There really is nothing exciting going on. I had a group meeting (with Jamie, which by the way was a success) and am now munching on "Body Smarts" and watching people fuck around on computers and tutor people. I personally am people watching, while I remain bored, out of my ever loving mind.

So, how are you?
Thats FANTASTIC!

Ugh. Im outta here.

I am soo sorry :(

I have been really busy lately. With school and the weekend, I have a hard time getting time. I am happy to report my classes this summer are going to be good. I have a feeling that everything will go off with minimal hitches, and I will be able to keep up and learn alot - which is essentially the point of it all.

D was in town this weekend, and we took Lisa to see Spiderman last night. It was pretty good, but if you are a movie buff (I like to think I am somewhat of one) you must keep in mind that there is supposed to be a certain level of cheese to the movie, it is based on a comic book. But, the action scenes were good and there was a tearful moment or two. I really enjoyed this movie and it gets a 8 on my movie scale.

I was thinkin that this may become a forum for movie reviews, so I will continue with the other movie I ventured off onto this weekend. Ocean's Eleven. I thought this movie was very well done, and respected the fact that while staying true to form for the original, they realized they could never be the original and therefore brought it up to speed. The acting was well done, and the story was quite engrossing. It was slightly predictable at times, but you were still hooked to see how it would play out, knowing there would be a few fuck-ups within the movie. There was a flaw, but I will not share it here, as it will only ruin the movie for you. I give this movie an 8 as well, and recommend you go to rent it as soon as you get a free two hours.

And since I have chosen to discuss my movie thoughts, I should tell you about my scale.
1-5 is horrible (there are no half points) - the level of shittiness is based on what is lower
6-8 is average and above average. An 8 is the best an average movie can get, and generally means the acting, directing, or story was fabulous, but it still had moments I went "What-EVERRR!"
9 is a movie that had very few flaws, and would have been a ten had ONE element been implemented. An all round great movie.
10 is impossible, only 2 movies off the top of my head are given this title. Crouching Tiger (must see in theatre to really relish the beauty) and Dark Days. I am sure there are more, bur right now, I can't even begin.

This is all relative, I will share as I move along.

A Sucker For Punishment

Yep. I remember a time when I said "I will never put myself through that again" and then tonight - it happened. I was asked if it was possible. And I thought, and thought, and thought. And then, it was too late to make a decision. Everyone in my life is giving me shit about it, so I will not be able to bitch. But, as it turns out, I have a good feeling about the whole situation.

Nevertheless, I am working with Jamie.

My classes are great, my schedule is set, and I think I might be able to do this right. Thanks be to God for the patience of a student.
Anyway. I really have nothing to say right now, Im really fried. Someone give me a topic! I have no crisis to speak of!

Who Knew Tara Could Do Stats?

So tonight was my first night at stats class, and I think, because I had Excel last semester that I may actually get through this without killing myself, so that is good news. I don't know how reliant stats is to research but we shall see tomorrow. I was happy to see some friendly faces in the class as well because my anxiety was eating me alive.

I am tired, so tonight I will not say much other than that. I hope all is well with each of you.

There are certain things I think God gives to just us women to remind us that he loves us.
D'angelo's "Untitled (How does it feel)" video is just that. In fact, I think D'angelo is just that. You can look baby, but don't touch, that boy MUST have a harem.

My Heart and My Head Are Fighting Again

You know the feeling. I know you do. When your heart says one thing and your head says another - and all the while your whole body aches with confusion.
At least this time the cause to the disagreement isn't a break up. It's a yearning. An unspoken rule. It's the part of me that I can not just type out to you all because it is just that personal. But what I did want to talk to you all about, was this feeling. I know everyone gets it an it is usually over a break up. Your heart wants to go to them, and your head realizes the reality of the situation. And who are we supposed to listen to. Women tend to listen to their hearts, men to their heads. Ultimately, this is where the clash of the sexes occur. I realize John Gray already said all this in Mars and Venus - but it seems to me that women are the only ones who realize the truth in this, and learn to react accordingly. This is where the strength of the woman comes in - her understanding of her surrondings, as well as her compassion for others. And to think that at one time, men did not believe women should be in business.

Speaking of which, women are full of strategic planning.Dostoevsky discussed in it "The Brothers Karamazov" using Katerina. Katerina had convinced herself she was in love with Dmirtry. Ivan was in love with her but saw through it all. And when Dmitry left Katerina for another woman, Katerina plots to get the other woman over for 'tea' and tries to convince her not to be with Dmitry. This story perfectly illustrates my intention for this post. Women can be coniving, and women can be convincing. So convincing in fact, that we can convince ourselves we love some one, that in fact we do not. Women in abusive relationships do it all the time "But I Love Him" they say. Ever day a woman is plotting to get what she wants - and we get it - whether it is good for us, or not. All in the planning.

In all honesty, I do not like women for the above reason. I do not trust 90% of them for I see the above as the truth. I understand their motives and I see their lies. But I do not subscribe to this. Women who can see through women (as my 4 best friends and I can) tend to not have the 30 girlfriends over for a slumber party. And the tend not to trust when their boyfriends have a 'girlfriend who is just a friend' we know the way it is. We see the way it is. And even if on face value, he does not find her attractive, this does not mean that the woman can not use her powers.

My thoughts for the day. I suppose I am on this woman trip. I just heard from a friend. His heart and his head are fighting again - and for the first time in history, I hear a man say he is listening to his heart.

Duh...Where Did He Go.. Where Did He Go...

My summer that is. I just went onto the reg system for school to attempt to change my life around and unfortuantely life is not going to be as easy as I would have liked it to be. So I might have to do some rearranging once school settles in and the world realizes that they too, do not want to be in school all summer. But, as it stands, my life sucks. Yes, yes it does. School is going to suck.

I got to thinking about the news today. How depressing. My dad, who is an avid watcher of such shows as blind date, 5th wheel, etc, does not watch the news. He reads the paper in the morning and the rest of the day he watches shit. I always thought he was crazy, until, I heard his reasoning. He can get his news in the morning but why does he have to be bombarded with all this shitty, depressing news for the rest of the day. Quite frankly, I believe he has a point.

The news is tragic. How rare is it that you actually turn on the news and its good news? Rare, especially since 911. With the goings on of the middle east, the big hunt for OBL, and all the other tragic things happening, watching the news is like... going to the dentist. And other than the tragedy, the news is dreadfully boring. Politics? Blah. Celebrities? Double Blah. Summer Movie Blockbusters? Yeah, please let me spend 13 dollars to see a fucking movie that when I walk out of the theatre I will be begging for my lost 2 hours back.

Amen to Blind Date. Entertainment and Willing Exploitation.
